Ohio Announces Tax Amnesty Program

WHAT IS OHIO TAX AMNESTY?
The Ohio Department of Taxation is offering a limited-time opportunity for
individuals and businesses to pay qualified back taxes with NO penalties
and only HALF of the interest due. This opportunity will no longer be
available after the program ends February 15, 2018.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?
Resolving your unpaid or underreported tax liability during Ohio Tax
Amnesty will eliminate the significant financial risk of having your tax
delinquency discovered by the Ohio Department of Taxation and then
having to pay the tax due, a sizable penalty, interest and, possibly,
collection fees. Amnesty provides the opportunity to pay off your
debt with significant cost savings.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
You may qualify if you have unpaid taxes that were due as of May 1, 2017,
and have not been contacted by the Department of Taxation about your
tax liability.

HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE?
Ohio Tax Amnesty will only be available for six weeks. The deadline for
applications, returns and full payment is February 15, 2018.

HOW MUCH COULD I SAVE?
The savings will vary depending on the type of tax owed and when it
was due. You can see sample savings at OhioTaxAmnesty.gov and learn
more about the program.
